Welcome to the Salty Dog - Sandy Island Cottage, where you’re invited to experience the allure of the great Ontario outdoors - island style! Spanning a private 8 acres, our well-appointed bunkie cottage on the Eastern most tip of Sandy Island, is home to large wind swept pines, a sun-soaked shallow beach perfect for swimming and water sports, and breathtaking views in every direction.
Accomodations
The cottage redefines comfort in the outdoors, offering a serene sanctuary amidst the rugged natural beauty of northern Ontario. This extremely private accommodation is nestled amongst the pines, steps to a private beach, fire pits, and offers multiple decks with seating options and wood fired hot tub.
You do not have to “rough it” just because you love nature!
On site you’ll find a king size log bed and a queen size pull out sofa. You will also find a Napolean BBQ, microwave, full size fridge, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, pots/pans and cutlery. For cozy nights indoors, there is 65" 4K UHD smart TV and Starlink satellite service for your Internet needs. There is a full external washroom with shower/toilet/vanity. There are complimentary canoes available, or if you prefer "power", PWCs are available to rent as well.
How Do I Get There?
The owner can provide you with boat service to transport people, supplies, canoes, kyaks, SUPs, or any other items that you may have, not exceeding 2000lbs. It takes about 20-30 minutes from the Salty Dog Marina in Sturgeon Falls to get to Sandy Island. You are welcome to take your own transportation if you prefer. There is docking available on Sandy Island. You may also park at the Marina for free for the duration of your stay. It is a fast, convenient and economical way to experience your getaway…
